The design of these baskets is rooted in folk and agricultural heritage. They are woven with willow over a hazel frame. The hazel is high grade, selected to be straight, even, knot free and attractive. It is steamed to enable it to be bent to the desired shapes. Once the hazel has set in shape, the willow is soaked for a week to make it pliable. The weaving consists of ribs and weavers, creating the form as it progresses.
